Mutual of Omaha Foundation Announces More Than $1.8 million Awarded to 57 Nonprofit Organizations in Spring 2023
(OMAHA, Neb.) – The Mutual of Omaha Foundation has announced an investment of more than $1.8 million in 57 nonprofit organizations in the Spring 2023 grant-making cycle. Organizations that received support align with the Foundation’s mission to break the cycle of poverty and invest in initiatives that strengthen the community, with the majority being based in the Omaha metro area. Approximately $1.1 million were directed to programs that help individuals and families meet basic needs such as food, access to healthcare and housing.
"Our community is fortunate to have so many nonprofits helping to fill the gap and connect those in need to resources that help meet their basic needs,” said Gail Graeve, vice president of social impact at Mutual of Omaha and executive director of the Mutual of Omaha Foundation. “We are proud to support this work, which strengthens our community and supports our most vulnerable neighbors. Our charitable strategy also leverages the passion and talents of our workforce through our corporate volunteer program. So far in 2023, our generous associates have volunteered more than 4,000 hours in their communities, personally supporting the organizations most meaningful to them."
The company’s volunteer time guidelines allow Mutual associates the opportunity to volunteer during the day, on their own or with their team, to give back in their communities. Through June 1, 2023, Mutual associates have volunteered more than 4,000 hours with 166 nonprofits in 24 states across the country.
