Today’s families are faced with many critical issues that negatively impact their ability to enjoy a safe, healthy and productive lifestyle. In order to help families overcome these issues, we will fund requests that address the following:
Behavioral Health
Behavioral health encompasses mental illness, but can also extend to substance abuse – a frequent symptom of mental illness. We will support programs that directly assist individuals with behavioral health issues, as well as programs that work to prevent substance abuse.
Youth Violence
Youth violence includes any type of violence involving children, adolescents and young adults. We will provide funding to organizations whose programs help to prevent and address the growing problem of youth violence.
Domestic Abuse
Our definition of domestic abuse includes any type of abuse or violence occurring within the home or family. We will support programs and organizations that work to prevent domestic abuse and come to the aid of those who have been victims of domestic violence.
Childhood Obesity
Children in our culture are facing an increasing number of health challenges that begin with unhealthy lifestyles and lead to obesity. We will consider requests from organizations providing programming specifically to prevent and address childhood obesity.
Research has shown that children from families dealing with any of these critical issues are more likely to struggle with additional challenges throughout their lifetime. It is our goal to fund programs and organizations that provide treatment and prevention services and programs that help alleviate these challenges to provide families with an opportunity to thrive in our community.
