In an effort to give back to communities nationwide that have played a large role in the company's success for the past 100 years, Mutual of Omaha and the Mutual of Omaha Foundation have teamed up with KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Together, the three organizations are coordinating the "Great Places to Play Tour," featuring the construction of two playgrounds in Omaha, as well as playgrounds in Denver, Dallas, St. Louis, Tampa and Phoenix.
Prior to each build, children at the recipient organization draw their dream playgrounds at a "Design Day." Those dreams then become a reality as hundreds of volunteers from Mutual of Omaha and the surrounding communities come together to plan and build a playground.
